We’re running out of time to significantly invest in technology that addresses the climate crisis. We focus on commercially-viable technologies that have the largest climate impact per dollar invested, and will maximize returns.
While each investment starts with a portfolio company, the majority of our capital will be invested in projects that are ready to deploy at a large scale. This strategy produces a portfolio of stable project assets plus appreciation in the value of the underlying portfolio companies themselves.
We take significant ownership in our portfolio companies and arrange right-of-first-refusal agreements on their project pipelines. This enables us to rapidly deploy infrastructure solutions while providing investors with access to exclusive revenue opportunities.
Platform companies must demonstrate robust product pipelines sufficient to reach global scale in the near-term and that their projects have the potential to have a material impact on the global environment when deployed at scale. We define material impact as gigaton-scale abatement of CO2 equivalent annually or a comparable environmental benefit.

This collection draws on articles and conversations from experts assessing climate risk, sustainability, the energy transition and approaches to redefining the challenges brought on by climate change.
We source, screen and evaluate potential investment opportunities using two equally important criteria: financial and carbon return on investment. Companies that we invest in are at the pre-commercialization phase and must prove the efficacy and maturity of their technologies.
Because the climate crisis is a race against time, we invest in technologies that are “six continent solutions,” meaning wide applicability across regions. We invest in technologies that have proven efficacy and are poised for commercialization.
We maximize measurable climate impact with every dollar we invest. Companies must demonstrate their technologies have material, capital efficient impact on climate at full deployment: a gigaton CO2(e) abatement/year.

We only engage in opportunities where we can secure rights to invest in the project assets of platform companies on a fixed, preferential basis, typically a Right of First Refusal (ROFR), negotiated in connection with our investment in the platform company itself.
